Treasures of painting
The Uffizi Gallery houses an extraordinary collection of paintings, including Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Michelangelo’s Tondo Doni.
Opened in 1581, it is one of the oldest museums in Europe, set up by the Medici family on the top floor of a building that was used for the administrative offices of the city (“uffizi” stands for “offices”).
Passing the entrance to the gallery, you will feel like one of their guests, invited to enjoy these wonders carefully explained by your tour guide.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
– Uffizi Gallery: to avoid long waits in line, we will take care of reserving the museum entrance. Although this significantly reduces the waiting time, in the high season we might have to queue for a while. Tuesday in the busiest day of the week as the museum is closed on Monday, accordingly we recommend to choose an afternoot tour on that day, with entrance to the gallery after 4 pm. Any backpacks must be deposited in the museum wardrobe.
– Reduced fees for under 18 years old: children/young people under 18 are free to all state museums (like the Uffizi) and some local museums, but the still have to pay for the reservation fee (€ 4,00 children under 6 are totally free). To take advantage of the reduction, an identity card/passport must be shown to prove the age.
– Headsets hire: headsets hire is mandatory to groups over 7 people.
