The other side of the river: Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens
You cannot say that you know Florence if you have never crossed the Ponte Vecchio and explored the area beyond the river. Here you will discover unexpected glimpses and small hidden squares, where artisan shops and young local designers’ studios coexist. The Oltrarno is a mix of tradition and avant-garde.
After a walk through this charming neighborhood, we will cross the entrance of the majestic Pitti Palace, once the residence of the Medici family and now home to several museums. Here we will visit the Palatine Gallery, famous for its splendid collection of XVI and XVII century paintings, and the Boboli Gardens, where the green becomes the ideal setting for fountains, artificial grottoes and ancient statues.
